Installing updates manually in Windows XP

1. Open Internet Explorer and under "Tools" select "Windows Update"
   
   
2. Select the "Express" box
   
   
3. It will take a few minutes scanning for the available updates. When it is finished select "Install Updates". Repeat this process until no more updates are available.
   
   

Installing updates manually in Mac OS X

1. Select the Apple icon from the top left of the screen, then go to "Software Update...".
   
   
2. It will take a few minutes to look for any updates. Click "Install" in the lower right if any updates appear.
